Personal Statement
As an extremely energetic child that disliked many of the traditional sports that most children gravitate to, swimming seemed the perfect solution to burn off that excess energy. Little did my family and I know that I would soon fall in love with the sport. Along with simply enjoying the sport, I have learned numerous valuable life skills. Time management, hard work, respect, and discipline barely scratch the surface. Helping coach swim lessons and lower level swimmers helped me understand what it means to give back to the sport, and to share the passion of swimming with others.
My main goals throughout high school include maintaining my 4.0 GPA, scoring well on the ACT, and becoming the fastest swimmer I can be. My dream is to be able to attend an excellent college that can best educate me for my future. My hope is that swimming may be able to help me get into one such school, and hopefully lower the costs to attend such a school. Along with that, I would love to be able to enjoy the sport of swimming for a few more years before I am tossed out into the real world.
