Darryl Fontenette '22 Recruiting Profile

Swimming is my passion. From the first time I got in the water, I felt at home. It is my place of peace and the place where I perform at my best. I feel the one thing that I have always heard from my coaches is regarding listening and work ethic. I feel like I am a great part of a team. I am the motivator of the group, always challenging everyone to dig deep and be their best. I am honest and willing to work hard for what I want. My teachers would describe me as intelligent and social. I participate in class and enjoy learning. What makes me different than other athletes is the amount of work that I am willing to do to reach my  dream of swimming at the collegiate level. I know the way I practice is the way I will perform. I believe in the saying, "Don't do it until you get it right, do it until you can't get it wrong." I still have work to do to get to my peak performance and am want to learn from others and be a student of swimming.
