Mason Wood '20 Recruiting Profile

When my friends are asked to describe me they easily answer that he is fun, one of a kind, and very honest. Sometimes this shocks me, But truthfully that is me! I want to be unique, fun, and definitely truthful. I do have my own style and I am not ashamed of it.

  Swimming lessons led me to club swim team and USA swim team at the age of nine. After three years of this regimen, I decided to give cross-country and track a try. I enjoyed this, but I also wanted to swim again, so I did both for a year. This is when reality hit me and I knew swimming is my passion. My biggest obstacle has been catching up to other swimmers who continued in the water when I took my break. My times are fast and I will continue to make them faster.

   One characteristic I have discovered I possess is leadership through being team captain of the swim team for two years, a member of The Boy Scouts Of America, SAYWHAT tobacco free program, and other community services.

  What I want from college is personal growth, educational background, and a successful swimming career. I believe in myself and want to become better in each of these aspects.
