Jack Woodruff '24 Recruiting Profile

My current collegiate goals and aspirations are to attend a 4 year university to major in Biology, pre-vet or pre-med. Ultimately I want to either own my own veterinary medicine practice or become an orthopedic doctor. 

I would be a good candidate for a collegiate level swim team because I am a hard worker and a leader, and while swim is predominately an individual sport, I believe in creating a team atmosphere where we build each other up through healthy competition. By doing this, we can help each other be the best swimmer possible.

I believe I stand out for several reasons. First of all, I thrive on healthy competition among teammates. I believe that we can push each other to be the best athlete and leader possible. 

Second, my academics show what a hard worker I am. I am currently a mostly A student in predominately advanced level courses. As of 2022, I do not have a class rank. Beginning with my graduating class my school does not rank until fall of Junior year, and only ranks top 10%. However, my weighted GOA is a 4.125 after two years of high school, and my unweighted is 3.875.  I am working hard to be in the top 10% of my class.

I just completed my second year on Varsity for my High School team. I lead the team as a captain as a Sophomore, and was chosen as a captain not only for swim as a Junior, but also as a captain for the inaugural year for our Water Polo team. I believe that dedication to your team is not just about how hard you work in the water, but also out of the water. 

I also believe that I stand out because in addition to swimming for my high school, I also swim Club and I participate in FFA. Juggling all of this (two swim teams, advanced level classes and raising animals year-round) truly showcases my level of commitment, dedication and willingness to work hard.
