Personal Statement
I have had many successes and failures in my past of swimming. I went through a rough 3 years of not improving much in swimming but, I learned a lot about what I need to do to become faster. I learned that I need to be fully committed if I want to improve. I have been showing up every day since then giving it my all in every practice. I have also learned that you have to be mentally present at every practice. If you aren't thinking and aware of everything you are doing then you can't improve. With that I would focus on specific things that I want to improve on. Even at meets when my time wasn't what I wanted I would at least improve on specific things and learn from those experiences. I have had many struggles in my past with swimming but, I have fought through them and become so much better than I was. That is why I am excited to swim in college and keep pushing myself every day!
