Evan Ingraham '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming competitively since I was seven years old, and I have always had a passion for the sport. Though I have enjoyed the individual nature of the sport, I have always enjoyed relays. I like the comradery they bring and the mentality that if you don't put everything in the pool, then your teammates will suffer as a result. This also makes me fiercely competitive in duel meets and championship meets. Even though I hate losing and will go all out in an individual event, I sometimes find a new gear in relays. One major example was at my first Long Course NCSAs when I went 54.08 in my individual 100 free. Two days later, I led off the B relay and went a 53.42. Even though I was dead after both races, my fear of letting my teammates down ultimately pushed me to my potential. I will do whatever it takes to benefit the team, whether it is racing events where I am needed the most or coming back in a relay that we need to win.
