Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Jack Galbraith and I am currently a junior at James Madison High School. I swim with Machine Aquatics under the Head Coach, Dan Jacobs, in the National Team group.
Swimming has given me some amazing things, valuable life skills such a working hard, passion, discipline, attention to detail, accepting criticism, and dealing with success as well as challenge. However, I could never overstate the value of friendship and teamwork that swimming has given to me. I have spent thousands of hours with people that I have the privilege of calling not only my teammates but my friends who I believe will be my friends for life even though we will take separate college paths. My college swimming career will mean endless hours in the pool with people I have not yet had the privilege to meet, and in the end, a significant part of my decision will be having full trust in the coach, and in believing and seeing his vision for me and the team.
I am the student of the sport of swimming and enjoy learning more in what I can do to become a better swimmer and person. My work ethic and strong will has helped me become a leader and crucial part of my training group and high school team. I believe hard work in the pool should also be backed up with hard work in the classroom.
