To Whom It May Concern,
Hello my name is Eben Schumann. I am 6'2" and 16 years old. I currently attend Aviation High School. Since Aviation High School has no athletics program I have to go elsewhere in order to swim for a high school. This profile says that I attend Aviation High School which is only partially true. I swim for Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, WA. In District Competitions I went undefeated, placing first in all my individual and aiding in the first placings of the two relays I was in. During the past High school season, 2013-2014, I aided in Kamiak's top ten placing with a third place in the 100 Freestyle and third in the 50 freestyle, both placings were during my junior year of high school. That being my third State competition, my first was when I was a Freshman. I have also lettered in Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years.
I don't only swim on a high school team but I also swim on a club team, Whitewater Aquatics. Whitewater Aquatics has been my swim club ever since April of 2012 and it has been very good to me. All of my current times I accredit to Whitewater Aquatics. On the club level I have competed at Speedo Champions Series Western Region Short Course Section Championship two times. The western region incorporates Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Inland Empire, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Pacific Northwest, Snake River, Utah, and Wyoming.
Outside both school and swimming I am involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Through the BSA I have been involved in the leadership training program, National Youth Leadership Training, NYLT. As the name implies the responsibility of the camp staff is to teach the boys in the course about leadership. One of the adult staff members equated NYLT to the management courses that large corporations send their managers to in order to learn how to be more effective managers. Not only have I attended NYLT I have also staffed it four consecutive times and on my third time staffing I was chosen to be the Assistant Course Director of Youth Operations, meaning that I was responsible for gathering the youth staff and leading the entire course, the adult leadership is only there to help in case a situation arises that the youth can't resolve.
