Personal Statement
My name is Chase Parker and I graduate in 2018 from Northview High School. I am looking forward to playing at the college level. I bring a strong work ethic and positive attitude everyday to make improvements in my tennis game. I was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, which is a smaller market and as my tennis game elevated I have traveled to hit with stronger players throughout the Southeast to improve my game and match play. I am looking forward to playing at the college level to gain a great education, but also grow and improve in the game of tennis. I feel having the opportunity to hit with strong players on a daily basis will elevate my game to a higher level be having the opportunity to hit with other players on a daily basis. I feel that my best days in tennis are ahead of me with having the opportunity to hit with other college players as this will be a great opportunity for me to improve my game since I do not have that access currently in my market. I have a tremendous passion for the game of tennis and want to enhance and support the development of the game during college and after college with being a teaching pro and running a tennis center to develop and support junior players. My experiences with playing ITF, ITA, and USTA matches have provided me experience to grow my game and also contribute to other players development in the future. I come from an athletic family and have received much support from my parents who were both very athletic (Father was a 1500 M runner at Auburn University and Mother was professional water skiier/jumper). From an academic standpoint, I am a year ahead academically as I love the challenge of the classroom and always try to take a hard schedule so I am prepared and ready for the college environment so I am prepared in life for my future career and development. By being a year ahead of my age academically, it moved me from 4 star Tennis Recruit to 3 star, since I will graduate at 17 years of age in May of 2018. Played 2017 ITA Summer Circuit with record of 7-4 and qualified for ITA nationals in Fort Worth, Texas by being semi-finalist at West Palm Beach ITA event.
