McKay Inman '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is McKay Inman and I am a senior at Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, CO. I am six feet tall and weigh 140 lbs. My tennis career started nearly six years ago and I haven't put the racquet down since. I have played varsity high school tennis as the No. 1, 2, and 3 singles positions since being a freshman, and I am now the captain of the tennis team. I have qualified for the 5A High School Colorado State Tournament three times, and have placed first in the 5A High School Regional Tournament once.I also play USTA tennis tournaments and am currently ranked 18 in Intermountain and 8 in Colorado. I recently also won a USTA Sectional Team Tennis Tournament, qualifying for the National Tournament, winning all 7 of my singles and mixed doubles matches. For the past two summers, I have been giving lessons to students on my high school team to help them improve in their game, and have been working at a country club helping younger children with their tennis as well. Over the years tennis has become a large part of my life. Ever since picking up a racquet for the first time, this sport has become a love of mine. I love the combination of will, strength, and skill needed to become great in the game. Tennis is a game of competing, and that's my favorite part of it all. There is nothing better than playing in a physically and mentally grinding match, and competing until you come out on top. There is no better feeling than the feeling of victory. Not only is tennis an important aspect of my life, but academics are very important to me as well. Currently, I have above a 4.0 GPA in high school. My overall ACT test score is a 27 and I have a SAT score of 1770. In my future, I would like to have a career in the field of business; therefore, I desire a major in Business and Finance or a major related to that. I am looking for no particular size of a school; however, I would like it to have a high academic level. Tennis is a large part of my life, but I realize that academics are going to make up a large part of my future, and therefore, I am very focused on my academics as well as tennis.
