Personal Statement
Hello Coaches and everyone who takes the time to read my personal statement. My name is Donovan Rodrigues and my end goal is to go to school and become a Forensic Pathologist, while playing the game I love on campus, tennis. To briefly summarize the last 3 years of my life, I headed into high school as a young, 13 year old freshman with an immature mindset and quickly realized it is more important than I initially thought. I struggled academically, however in March the tennis season came around and playing as the #2 singles, I went undefeated in conference play and made it to the third round of the State Tournament. I ended up winning the MVP award for the school team as a freshman and my success on the court transferred over into the classroom. Academically, I turned my grades around. Since freshman year, my grades have drastically improved, as I continue to persevere with a solid work ethic throughout high school, by loving the learning process of every class, and grinding tennis one game, one point, at a time. I continue to work on my game every day, mentally and physically, studying the Pros and learning from their matches. I am a student of the game and will always continue to improve my skills. That is the one characteristic that will set me a part from others, my commitment to success.
