Coming to the United States and making into the Varsity team in my first year was one of the highlights moments of my high school career. However, making through all the challenges that coming to a new country and competing with a whole new tennis level bring wasn't easy. I had to practice 3 times more to keep up the hard work, but fortunately I already had some experience with sports. Going to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championships back in my home country, before I started playing tennis, taught me to never give up, independently the pain you are feeling or how hard it looks to win, and also taught me important lessons of teamwork and how to deal with pressure, what I was able to apply in the regional tennis championships I played back in Brazil.
Learning a third language also taught me that through hard work, focus, and devoting the right amount of time makes you able to accomplish your goals. Having the abilities to overcome the “life giants”, fighting with tooth and nails until the last second, being able to adapt to different situations and scenarios, and using the leadership skills I got, makes me a good fit to play in college leagues, one of the many objectives that i set for myself.
