Personal Statement

My parents have always taught me that attitude and effort are the most important factors for anything in life. This is something I take to the tennis court any time I play. Through tennis, I have also learned a few things about myself including my competitive personality. I have played in numerous USTA tournaments and also participated in team tennis throughout my years of playing. On the high school team, I strive to encourage my teammates and help them to do their best. I enjoy playing both singles and doubles and work my hardest to help the team win. As much as I enjoy playing tennis, I realize that academics take priority especially in a college setting. This takes a hard work ethic and strong character and this is what I can bring to the team.

- I volunteer at Grace Church to play drums on the weekends. Over the last two summers I have gone on a mission trip to the East Side of Indianapolis with Grace Church partnering with Shepherd Community Center. On this trip we participate in projects around the East Side of Indianapolis and also volunteer at IPS 58.
