Personal Statement
My goal as a collegiate tennis player is to perform at the highest level possible on the court and in class. I would like to aspire to become a professional tennis player in the future, with a solid back up plan of having a good college education, and a career in tennis as a tennis Pro, and tennis business manager.
I am a good candidate for your tennis program because I work harder than anyone I know to become the best I can be, and make myself a better and more successful player. I have determination, drive, and work ethic to get better. How do I achieve this? Four days per week I get up at 5:10 am before school and go to the tennis club with my coach, and do an hour of tennis related work outs, such as speed/agility, balance/coordination, cardio and strength training. Then go to school and have an hour weight lifting class during the day. Then after school I go home, do homework, eat, and head back to the club for and average of 2 hours or more of tennis lessons/training. I am on the court 6 days per week. Also once per month I play USTA tennis tournaments to practice the skills I have learned and compete in high level competition, which I love doing. I also schedule "hits" with college level athletes to improve my skills.
My coaches say I am very coachable, which makes my progression rise quickly. I am calm, under control and focused on the court.
I would like to be at a College where the coach is knowledgable and motivated to help me become a great player, teammate, and person.
Thank you, and can't wait to talk with you.
