Personal Statement

I started playing tennis when I was 8. My parents put into many sports so I could try out not just different sports but also different team environments. I played soccer both freshman and JV soccer in high school along with tennis and have decided to focus on tennis soley and I want to be able to play tennis at the college level. I think that my experiences playing other sports have helped me with my tennis. While tennis is an individual sport I haved loved playing team style tennis in high school and in tournaments. I love the team environment and getting to play not just for myself but also for my teammates. I know that I must commit a lot and have lots of patience as I try to achieve this goal. I always believe in honesty and playing fair. I am open to the advice from others, taking the advice and coaching from my trainers to matches and practices. I feel that I am easily coachable. I like honest feedback so I know where I can improve my game so I can perform better on the court. In addition to playing tennis in highschool and in tournaments, I am part of the National Honor Society. I am also part of several school clubs and activities that help me to gain experiences that helps me grow to be a well rounded young man.

Off the court, I like to fish, hunt, and hike. I love the outdoors and lake life. I like listening to country music because it suits me the best. I want to study the majors that are in the field above. I want to be able to go to a school where I know that I can succeed both academically and athletically and ultimately make me a better man in the future.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Wesleyan College Tennis Exposure Camp
  • 7/27/24 to 7/28/24
  • Like the Lehigh camp, players can come from across the states to compete at this event. We participate in drills run by the coaches. Use different rules to better advance our skills. We work on the technical parts of the game from running forehand and backhands to our serves. We compete as teams against other teams. Overall it was such another fun class and I got so much out of it.
  • Camp/Event
  • Lehigh College Tennis Exposure Camp
  • 7/13/24 to 10/14/24
  • It’s a good camp for players from all over the country to compete in front of 20 different college coaches from different levels. There is lots of hands on training and rules to make each players game better. The main topic of the camp is Directionals which helps me make less unforced errors. The last day, everyone is divided into teams and we compete against each team. Overall, I learned so many useful tips in my game and I use them on the courts.

Training

  • Point set tennis
  • 9 years
  • Consistently work on my singles and doubles game. I work on all my shots during every practice session. During practice we use different rules to better advance our skill sets. We work in cones for placement of heavy deep shots clearing the net. Use crosscourt volley drills to work on closing in to the net. Work on team approach and team overhead. Taking time to warm up serves and playing solid singles points. Every session I always participate in the fitness portion of the training which includes cardio, weights, and stamina trainings.
  • Carefree racquet club
  • 9 years
  • 30 minutes of fitness. Warm up our forehands and backhands. Lots of cardio tennis. Eight ball combo drills, lots of footwork and running. Use the cones to make a circle in the middle of the court to prevent us from hitting too much in the middle. Lots of running backhands and forehands. Lots of instruction on our serves. Play out singles points and sometimes will mix in doubles points.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
