Personal Statement
Until now, our high school hasn’t been known for tennis. It’s been fun to change that. I’m the first person in school history to win the Mid-Penn conference, and to place at districts, and to go to states. The first two years that I went to states I faced the state champ in the first round and lost badly. My junior year I made it to the quarterfinals. I’m working to do even better this year.
I enjoy playing on a team, and since I play our #1 spot, I get to introduce our players to the opposing team before the matches. I’ve made a tradition of adding silly nicknames and it breaks the ice. Even the most serious players can’t help smiling.
In tournaments I play my best and improve the most when I play tougher matches. I’m hoping to play for a college team that provides opportunities for me to be challenged and continue to improve my game. Tennis will always be part of my life.
