Christian Hellwig '20 Recruiting Profile

I started playing tennis at a very young age, but I did not realize that tennis was my passion until I turned 12. I played many other sports growing up such as football, basketball, wrestling, and soccer. My biggest achievement in my high school career was becoming a varisty player my freshman year. I don’t just play tennis I also golf for fun, and I am involved with many programs in my school such as, Choir, Drama, Leo Club, Journalism, and the Technolgy Students Association. My goals at a college level are to play tennis for my schools team, and to major in business and finance, or if a school offers it, tennis management. My life goal is to become a tennis coach and follow in the footsteps of great coach’s like Bill Belichick, Vince Lombardi, and Toni Nadal. I have been coaching since I was 14, volunteering for my local parks and rec, when I was 16 they offered me a job, I also coach at the Winchester Counrty Club. Coaching has been a large impact on my life because it makes me happy to be able to go out and teach someone something I love, and see them grow and love the sport just like I do.
