Personal Statement
My name is Andrew Suver and I am a rising senior at O'Dea High School in Seattle Washington. I began playing tennis when I was eight and also played baseball, basketball, soccer and ran cross country until I decided to specialize in tennis when I was 12. I began playing tournaments at the age of 10, and represented the Northwest region at Little Mo at the National Level when I was 11. I have been passionate about tennis since I started, and have trained exclusively with my coach, Scott Moore, at the Seattle Tennis Club. I had two years (age 14-16) where I had recurring injuries with my shoulder, wrist and feet due to going through a big growth spurt which set me back because I wasn't able to train full-time and had to withdraw from tournaments due to these injuries. I am now 6'3" and although I am still growing, I have been injury free for the last 18 months and train three times a week with an injury prevention trainer that has helped me gain a lot of strength and greater mobility.
My goal is to play at the highest level possible in College. I am very coachable, train hard, am a natural athlete and have tremendous upside potential. I play both singles and doubles and really like the aspect of being on a team and supporting my team mates while competing hard for my school. I won third in the State of Washington my junior year for high school tennis. I play singles and doubles and have played open tournaments all summer and will be playing a Level IV at the end of August. Tennis is my passion and I look forward to helping my team achieve greatness.
