Personal Statement
I began training for XC and Track in 7th grade as a way to get in shape for Soccer, and I quickly fell in love with running. Since Freshman year, I have been seriously considering continuing my running journey as a collegiate athlete, and I now more than ever hope to fulfill this dream and get the privilege of competing at the next level.
As a runner, I take training very seriously and work hard, and -- though I love my current coaches -- I know that, with more direct coaching and a more supportive program that often comes with a D1 college, I can improve massively. My dad ran at the University of Arkansas, so I know just how much a difference a collegiate program and training staff can make a difference in an athlete's performance. I am looking forward to having conversations with anyone interested in what I can offer to a team and a school, and I can promise that I have the drive and talent to succeed at the highest level.
As a student and member of the community, I try hard in the classroom to maintain the highest weighted GPA possible with the classes I take. I am involved in various clubs where I am an active member, including McGill-Toolen Catholic High School's Key Club, Green Club, and Friends of Exceptional Children Club, where I have participated in many volunteering activities in my community. I have previously had part-time jobs as an independent lawn care specialist and as a Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Assistant for Rehm Animal Clinic, and I will be working part-time at Fleet Feet beginning December 2023. Any spare time I have is usually spent doing various activities with my friends or insanely large family. I also still enjoy soccer and occasionally play golf or piano when I can.
