Personal Statement
My name is Vincent Moreno, currently I am attending college for a Associate of Applied Science degree for a Pharmacy Technician. My goals are to become a collegiate thrower in Men's Track & Field because I want to improve myself for better while enjoying a sport I really love doing. I started throwing discus and shot put when I was just in 5th grade and it was something I really enjoy doing. Throughout my junior high and high school careers throwing, I improved to the best of my ability even with some obstacles at the time. When I was a senior in high school, I had to get knee surgery during football season. The surgery didn't stop me from what I was able to accomplish on the track field and I was determined to improve my throws and overcome this obstacle. What makes me a good candidate is that I am very hardworking both on the field along with in the classroom, I am a leader in the classroom and also on the track field. I always strive for greatness when it comes to my events and I focus on improving my abilities. Throughout my life, I was always told to never give up by my family along with my coaches. My coaches during high school always told me that they want me to go throw collegiately which is something I want to achieve as my main goal. My academics are great, I always finish my work before I go and do something else. As my parents told me, classwork comes first. My coaches always told me that I was a "student first and a athlete second" meaning do the work in the classroom and then be the athlete that you're suppose to be. I am always an A average student with a few high B's. My academics are important to me along with my athletics.
