My name is David Joseph Maeweather and I'm a extremely hardworking track participant. I'm truly dedicated to this sport. I am a student-athlete who knows the ends and out of my events in track. My most important accomplishments is having the ability to on a continuous bases to be qualified for Junior Olympics. Each year from my freshmen year to today, I have along with others have seen the progress in my speed and technique in both the 110 and 300 hurdles. In fact, I have been involved in several meets to where I won my heat, but still came in the top 5 of my events.
Knowing that I'm capable of running track in college makes me more passionate for this sport. What I can offer to a team is the promise to always work hard and never give up. I am the first to go to the field and the last to leave, so it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are very big. I mainly am looking at the southern states (Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, etc.) but I am very open to going anywhere. I am open minded about colleges and hope to just find a college that fits me best. It doesn't matter about the size or location; if I can receive a good education and track I will be happy. My top two choices for a major as of right now is either Computer Science or Physical Education. However, my major may change over the course of the rest of my high school career.
My realistic athletic goals are to continue to run track and play football at a high competitive level. Another goal of mine is to make an impact on the team and to be an example to those after me. Knowing at the end of the day that I made a difference and tried my hardest, would keep a smile on my face.
