Personal Statement
Since my first year of competing in track in 2013 at age 11, my father and coaches instilled in me a strong work ethic and a will to always do my best. I work harder than anyone at practice and encourage my teammates to always give their best. My family and coaches have also instilled in me to always be humble and treat everyone with respect whether you win or lose.
I’m a 3 time champion in the 400 (2014-2016) and back to back champion in the 800 (2015-2016) at the USATF Junior Olympic. I won the 800 three years in a row (2014-2016) at the Hershey Youth Outdoor Championship. Additionally, my time in 200 is among the top three of athletes in my age group 13-14.
Attending a great academic college with a reputation for track and field is my ultimate goal. I not only want to continue my track career after high school, but I want to attend a university that will give me the tools necessary to focus on life after track. I’m still sorting out what I want to major in but I’m leaning towards communications with an emphasis on sports broadcasting.
Like many talented young runners my ultimate sports goal is to make the USA Olympic team in 2020 or 2024. I believe with my God given talent, my desire to be coached to do my best and a great support system will help me to achieve my dream.
