Kristofer Castillo '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kristofer Castillo, I am a senior at American Canyon High and will graduate with the class of 2018, running is my passion.  I consider myself pretty easy going and I get along well with pretty much everyone.  I am a very hard worker and I am dedicated to my sport and take running very seriously.  I'm also a very fast learner, you don't have to tell me something more than once for it to register.  I'm also very coachable, I listen carefully and follow directions from my coaches meticulously, and I'm not afraid of constructive criticism; I'm laser focused and will usually do a drill over and over until it's perfected.  I played football my freshman year and I would constantly hear my coaches and teammates commenting on my  speed and how fast I was.  I am also very humble and hearing all the positive comments truly humbled me even further.  My sophomore year I decided to go out for track and the coaches immediately put me on the varsity team, where I exceled pretty rapidly.  By my junior year I was able to break the school record for both the 100m with a 10.89 PR and the 200m with a 22.14 PR; this just motivated me even more.  My goal is to attend and earn a 4 year degree from a university that will meet my needs academically, and running track at the university level goes hand in hand with my academic goal. I am hoping to find the school that is truly the right fit for me on both levels.  On a personal note, I have two younger brothers that look up to me immensely.  I am very aware that every step I take, every move I make, they are right behind me, watching closely; so I make sure I work even harder and I am sure to always make good choices, for me, for them.  I want to make them proud.
