Personal Statement
Thank you for taking the time to view my NCSA profile. Determination and persistence are the words I would use to describe myself as a person. Whether it may be out during my workouts, in the classroom, or during races, I consistently apply these words to whatever I am doing. I first began running cross country in middle school as a 7th grader and competed in my first National Championship in 8th grade for USATF. I consider myself lucky to have fallen in love with the sport at a young age as the 2 years prior have boosted my performance in high school. After 8th grade when I realized I had great potential as a runner I began to take the sport more serious as I began my running in high school. I enrolled in a summer training camp and have been training every summer at Mammoth Lakes for a short time for altitude training. During my time in high school, I have achieved one of the fastest 3 mile times in the competitive state of California. I have competed for CIF twice and have made it to CIF finals twice. I have raced for another USATF national championship and got 1st as a team and placed top 20 All-American. I have been Pacific League champion for the 1600m and 3200m as a Sophomore. I plan to finish my senior year of running strong and with outstanding performances. I have learned much about the sport in my years as a runner and know that I have much to learn in the upcoming years. This experience I have gathered over the years will prove to be of great value to your running program. I plan to major in animal science and animal biology while continuing to pursue my dream of running at the collegiate level. My strive for excellence and success can assure you that I will be of great value to your program. I hope you can see that within me lies great potential and opportunity to better your program. I look forward to hearing from you and once again, thank you for your time.
