Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Trey Chatterton. I am a junior cross country and track runner with aspirations to be the best I can possibly be. I have been running for five years now and have learned a lot over the years. I ran 2 of those 5 years in middle school where I was the fastest in my school. Then in 8th grade, I took the year off to focus on soccer. Going into high school I recommitted to pursuing my goal of being a runner. As a freshman I ran the 3 mile in a time of 16:49. I was determined to be better the following year so I trained harder and was able to drop my time by 0:59 seconds. In sophomore year I ran a 15:50 as an overall best time. I ended up getting the most improved player on my team with a significant drop in time. This year being a junior I dropped a 15:09.4 at my league prelims. I unfortunately could not break 15 because I got a hip injury after my 15:09. Going into senior year my goal is to get in the mid 14:30s for the 3 mile. For Track, I am going to do my best to run the 3200 meters in 9:20 by this year and sub 9:15 by senior year. For grades, I am going to try to have a 3.5 unweighted and a 3.7-3.8 weighted GPA. I am going to give it everything I got to improve each year no matter what the cost is. My goal’s are to be the best I can be and to help my teammates be the best they can be. Thank you for spending time reading about my running career!
Update… I committed to USC. Thank you to all who have helped me get to USC and I'm enjoying this next chapter in my life
