Personal Statement
Greetings,
My name is Kirk Baril. I started participating track and field in the summer of 2012 when I witnessed Usain Bolt passing his opponents in the London Olympics and winning gold medals for all three of his events. He inspired me to try out this sport and to follow my dreams. I am a well rounded student-athlete. I am currently at East Los Angeles College with a G.P.A of 3.3-3.4. The information from above is from high school and academically I have changed for the better. In my opinion, having a mandatory study hours for student athletes can help me in way to stay on top of my academics. My major that I would take on is Kinesiology. One day, after I hang up my spikes, I would love to fall back on being a coach or a personal trainer. This major triggers me because I would to help others reach their full potential while doing something I have experience in. When fantasizing about a dream college, I would love to represent a school that supports me on and off the track. Having an outstanding medical/training staff to help me recover from workouts also a strength conditioning coach that can help me reach my strength/nutrition goals to make me a better athlete overall. One of my goals in life is to represent the Philippines in the Olympics. and hopefully from there become a professional athlete in this respected sport. Thank you for your time and hope we can keep in touch.
