Becoming involved in cross country/track and field developed my character from a humble, quiet student into an outgoing, determined leader. Achieving the role of captain in my sophomore year dramatically changed my mentality because I shifted focus from myself to a greater picture, the success of the team and my teammates. Now a senior, I serve an influential role in all team levels by being a supportive, motivating captain that leads the team in drills on a daily basis. In the future, I hope to hold a similar leadership role on a college team because being a strong individual on the team, yet supporting my fellow teammates, is a position I feel comfortable with.
After finishing high school, I plan on attending an academically elite university, where I hope to major in the sciences. A personal long-term aspiration after my bachelor's degree is to proceed with medical school, where I will focus on radiology. Eventually, I plan on earning a doctorate and becoming a fully certified radiologist physician.
