I have grown up in the mountains of Colorado, at 10,000 feet, living a very active and athletic lifestyle. I have attended the same school in Fairplay since kindergarten. It is a small community where everyone knows everyone and there is a lot of great community support. At the same time it is close to Summit County and Denver. I have been involved in sports since grade school, I played soccer up through middle school and then started running track and playing basketball in 6th grade. My parents have always supported my athletics, finding the right opportunities even when it has meant commuting when necessary. I have also been a life long skier. I feel I have had a unique experience living where I do and a solid foundation to leap from.
I've loved running track from the beginning, finding success quickly. At my very first meet freshman year I broke the school record, by almost a second in the 110m hurdles, giving me a sense that I could take it a lot further. I have now reset my own school record 6 times since. South Park is a small school, when I made it to state my freshman year for triple jump, I got to experience an atmosphere like no other, and felt like I needed to take it to the next level. Sophomore year I was invited to state in the 300m hurdles, 110m hurdles, and triple jump. I attended the Air Force Academy track Camp in Colorado Springs last summer and will be going back this summer. I have also continued to play basketball, I was named League MVP my Sophomore year and hold a few leading stats for the league this year as well.
I have always intended on going to college, and have been successful academically. My intention is to be an engineering major. I am determined to pursue College athletics as well. My mom was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and is a University of Oregon graduate. I have grown up spending a lot of time out there and would love to be able to go to school there if possible. My parents and I are committed to this process and finding the best possible option for me. I am ready for the big pond!
