I was one of the fastest people in the state during middle school, but coming into high school was a big leap for me because people were so much faster. During my freshman year, I ran a 17:49 which is alright for a freshman. I worked much harder my sophomore year to get my time under 17 minutes and I was able to run a 16:35 at the end of the year. I believe that I am ready to run in college because I understand how big the jumps are, but it will be worth it. For my junior year I am hoping to break 16 minutes and bring my team with me. It is a very difficult goal for anyone, but if you work hard enough, try to compete and not worry about your times, you will reach the goals that you have for yourself. My goal for college is to run competitively at a school that will allow me to challenge myself. I am hard working and am able to put in the work necessary to make myself and others successful. The most influential person in my life is my dad because his high school cross country team won state 3 out of his 4 years. This has made me work much harder. He has taught me how to run competitively and helped me achieve the goals I never thought I could reach. I started loving to run when I was in 1st grade. I used to go out and run for 20-30 minutes with my backpack on after school. I have Continued to run ever since and am looking forward to improving my times and getting to the competitive levels in college. I have learned that even though you might not feel great, you still need to push yourself. This is the only way to reach your goals. During college, I want to study to be a sports medicine doctor and work with athletes that get injured. My character is hardworking and also being motivational and supportive to those who need to be pushed a little harder. I believe that criticizing and talking down to people will only make it harder for them to reach their own goals. What is unique about me is that I may be quiet and have some qualities of an introvert, but I can still have meaningful conversations with the people around me. I am very motivated and determined to work my hardest to meet the goals that I have for myself as well as be a great teammate.
