I would like to run after high school because for starters I have loved running track for the few short years I have ran it and love the rush of adrenaline when that gun fires and it's just you and the seven other people you're running against. I have truly found a passion for track and have taken several track focused camps to better myself for the next season. On the days I wasn't in a camp I would ask my mom to drive up to the track near me to try different techniques I had recently learned for some extra practice.
How I plan to meet my goals is to continue doing these camps and pushing myself every practice to get better and better and to not only beat the guys next to me but try to obtain a new PR.
In my few short years of running track I have had a few accomplishments. In middle school I broke the school record in the 200m hurdles that I had been striding to break since I started running track. And my most recent achievement was getting in contact with a college my freshmen year of high-school about my scores in the 300m hurdles.
My goal is to compete at the next level after high-school, which would be the college level. My goals this year will be to lower my 300 meter hurdle time by two seconds. Also, I would like to broaden the spectrum of my abilities on the track. I would obtain this goal by going back and running the events I used to run in middle school such as the 4x2 and 200m dash.
What makes me a good asset for your team would be the fact that I have received multiple awards for my work ethic, being a team leader, and always encouraging others. And on the more athletic side of things I have set school records and been .75 of a seconds off the district record in middle school.
I am still training but I have a 9ft broad jump and a 39” approach 1.23sec 10 yard dash. Still improving!!
