My name is Zachary Salcido, and I am currently a senior at Highlands Ranch High School. I have currently competed in four seasons of cross country and three seasons of track & field. I am a strong believer that education ultimately comes first. Yet, I also believe that sports is something a player needs to dedicate themselves to. I am an athlete that can do both. I excel in academics and am pushing myself to be better in the sports I play. I'm different than other recruits because I know what is required of me when I walk out of my door every morning of every day. I don't need to be told what I need to do. I understand the importance of putting both time and effort into studying for academics, and I dedicate 100% into it. Coaches would be getting a hard working, dedicated, coach able athlete in me! I am currently figuring out what my major would be but I am very interested in English .
I am fortunate enough to currently be apart of a great program with the Highlands Ranch Falcons. My current personal record in the 800 meter dash is 1:58.89 and I am looking to improve in my final year of high school and hopefully into college. I understand the value of dedication, hard work, leadership, and the importance of self-confidence. Yet, I know there are a lot more values I need to learn. I have a long, challenging road ahead of me, but I am ready to accept anything that comes my way. I am a respectful kid and I follow what my coaches tell me. I respect the sport I play because it can tear you down as fast as it can bring you up. Using my God given talent, I hope to one day be running with a great college that gives me the opportunity to use my abilities.
