Corey Gomez '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Corey Gomez; I am from a very small town in Colorado, Ignacio. I have been running Cross Country since my freshman year, as well as Track and Field since my sophomore year. Throughout these years of dedication to these sports, I have learned many very important values. Of which include dedication, perseverance, and hard work. I have taken these values and used them to my advantage, both in the classroom and on the track/course. Through my perseverance and hard work I have been thankful enough to end my senior season with a 19:80.80, at my Colorado 2A State Championship meet. This may not seem like very much, but to me, it shows that though I am not the fastest runner I am proud of what I have accomplished. In comparison to my very first cross-country meet my freshman until now as a senior, I got a pr of 7 minutes. Running a 26:--.-- in Grand Junction as a freshman, and 19:18.80 at the 2A State Championship this year. I believe this represents my overall strive to become the best of the best, I believe that running at the next level with help me achieve that goal.
