My name is Andre Stablein. I am a long-distance runner who specializes in distances including; 1600m, 3200m, and 5000m. I have run Cross Country for Front Range Christian School (2A) over the last three years and have run Track with Columbine High School (5A) for the last two years. I have been the lead varsity runner for each of these schools (in my events).
I have been the captain of our FRCS Cross Country team for the last two years. As the XC team captain, I helped them to be better runners in each of our workouts and led these XC workouts when the Coach was not available. I showed the team - through example - that running takes work, commitment, and discipline in order to become a good runner.
In many of my XC races this season (fall 2019), I placed first, second, or third and even broke the course record in a 5k race in Estes Park, CO. In the Colorado State Cross Country Championship in Colorado Springs, CO, I placed third overall (for 2A schools).
I always push myself to be the best athlete and person I can be and I believe that running in college will help me pursue that more. As the lead runner in high school XC and Track, I had great team mates but I did not have any peer training partners. So I had to be self-motivated and this instilled discipline within my running. I look forward to training with other peer-level teammates in order to become an even better runner in College.
