Personal Statement
Hello,
Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Chris Theodore and I am a 4.07 GPA student at Rock Canyon High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. I am looking for a program that exemplifies high academics, a strong and high performing cross country and track team, and a campus I will be happy to attend for 4 years.
Academics mean a lot to me. I want to pursue a degree of Business, Business Management, and Finance when I got to college. I am looking for a program that can over my degree at a strong level and will prepare me for the real world. As well, in my junior year of high school right now, I am taking 3 AP classes, along with 1 AP and many honors courses I have taken before. My high school does not weigh honors classes and I am very happy to have a 4.07 GPA from my freshmen and sophomore year.
Aside from main core academics, I am also very involved with my school. I offer strong leadership skills that I would love to bring to a university and a team, as I am: the Student Body Public Relations Officer of my school, have spoken in front of 100+ high school leaders and 200+ leading business leaders, I created a organization called "Miles for Lives" that hosts 5k races with the only cost being a pair of shoes that will be donated to the homeless, National Honor Society, and lastly have taken a big role in leading my cross country and track team to their highest potential.
When it comes to athletics, I am a passionate and dedicated runner. I want to further my running career in college by being on a team with the common goal of winning titles. What makes me different from other athletes is the leadership I can bring to a team. Personally, I am all for servant leadership, leading by the heart and example. I want to make everyone on the team successful and to push them to their greater capacities. I have the school record for 5k at altitude currently (15:33), posted times of 4:28.57 (1600) and 9:50 (3200) in my sophomore year of track, and will continue to strive for greatness and improve of my previous PRs. I love the sport of running and the team atmosphere it provides. Also, I have received the Team MVP award my sophomore year, the Rising Star in both track and XC freshmen year, and coaches award sophomore and junior year. Aside from team awards, I have gotten first-team all-league twice, first-team all-region, and honorable mention at the state meet.
