Personal Statement
I have always excelled at academics, and I took on running because I was an awful runner. Nothing bothers me more than being bad at something. Now, however, I love to run; the bonds with teammates, the competition, the self improvement, and the opportunity to lead all have helped me define who I am.
I may not drop all my plans for a scholarship, but I understand it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Once I commit to something, I dive into it with the whole of my being.
My role as a team captain for Track and XC these past years has inspired me to take on more of a leadership role than ever before. I have helped create an atmosphere on these teams that inspires greatness. My teammates have achieved more than they thought possible. I have fallen short many times, but never have I said I did not give my all.
