Thomas Yonkers '23 Recruiting Profile

I’m a student athlete of the class of 2023 , who after losing a football season to covid, joined outdoor track in the 2021 season. I instantly fell in love with the sport. The following year I would spend honing my skill in pole vaulting and spent most of my time before and after school of my junior year on the track or in the weight room in preparation for the 2022 season, with the intent to compete in the CIAC boys Decathalon June 14th and 15th 2022. While in 2021, I learned to love the sport in 2022 I learned to love the process, and this expanded my desire to continue my education and athletics at the collegiate level.  What sets me apart from other athletes is my dedication, patience, and work ethic.  Watching my pole vault PR and our teams pole vault program grow has been a real gratifying event that built my confidence level to a high. I look forward to entering a new phase of my life and seeing where the skills i’ve culminated so far will take me.
