CHIZEL Brown '24 Recruiting Profile

The philosophy of servant stewardship, innovation, a sense of community involvement, and excellence has been deeply etched in my development as a child and student.  My name is Chizel Brown, and I am a seventeen (17) year old student who migrated from Jamaica to the US in July 2022 and is currently attending Bonita Springs High School in Florida.  Some of my demonstrated attributes are of being disciplined, diligent, kind, willing, industrious, competitive, honest, dependable, and ardent.  I am hereby expressing my sincere interest to participate in the top five public University in the US, scholarship Program as a prospective enrollee.

It is my intention to be enrolled in a university to pursue an degree in Electrical Engineering.  In addition to my academic pursuits, I am seeking to become involved in the University's sporting program and in particular, the Athletics/Track team.  I have been actively participating in sporting activities at the Bonita Springs High School and have produced a season’s best time of 11.08 seconds over the 100-meter race at our sporting events/activities. I am quite intent on the development and acquisition of a professional track career and am aiming to compete in the 100 and 200-meter track races as well as the 4x100-meter relays.  It would be my sincere pleasure to be among the elite track and field athletes that have continued to balance the enduring legacies of academics and sports. One of my main goals is to surpass the achievement of my countryman the G.O.A.T Usain Bolt. My commitment to the sporting endeavor has facilitated my training currently with a private coach at the Dunbar High School in Florida, as I seek to demonstrate and become a valuable asset to a university’s proven record of academic performance and sporting prowess.

One of my primary goals as a prospective student at a university is to participate in volunteering in community and empowerment activities so that I may contribute to social development, inclusion, and community advancement through awareness and advocacy.

It is my firm belief that attaining a scholarship to pursue the B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering will argue well for my career aspiration and progression. The program will help me to serve my community in the field of Electrical Engineering and I plan to seek employment in organizations that have integrated social outreach and sporting activities that encourage inclusion and diversity and overall corporate goodwill.

A scholarship would enable me to achieve the goals that I have already envisioned for myself and the wider community. Furthermore, I promise my attendance at an established University will add value to the University’s sporting achievement and create the added recognition this institution deserves. If accepted into the scholarship program, I will endeavor to become an exemplar to others and will commit to the ethos and values of the university as a student and alumnus.
