Personal Statement
Running track in my junior year was such a great experience. Actually, it was the first time I'd ever run in track spikes or on a competitive level. I hoped nothing more than to build speed for the next football season, never knowing that I'd fall in love with the sport. It has taught me to go the extra distance; for the team, for the personal record, and through the pain.
Although it was a great experience it didn't come without pain and struggles. However, I learned how to overcome and nurse them. It taught me patience, endurance and how to strategize and approach every track meet with a plan. With these traits, I am looking for a program that will assist me in continual improvement in keeping me balanced athletically, academically, and spiritually. I believe I qualify and am capable of being a short distance sprinter for your college athletic program.
