Personal Statement

I am a Junior attending John I. Leonard High school in Greenacres Florida. I was always doing sports ever since I was 5yrs old. First it was Tball, then baseball when i was 8, next it was Go Karts at 9, Bmx starting from 5th grade until 8th grade. I started running track in 6th grade, and cross country at 7th grade. I didnt take running seriously until 8th grade. It was a tough decision since i loved doing BMX, but i had to stop since i was getting injured alot. Ever since that I stayed with running.

My 8th grade year was what got me noticed by my high school coach when won the Palm Beach County championship with a time of 4:59. After that i started practicing with the high school team during summer vacation of that year. Once my first high school cross country season started in 9th grade, i started as the 3rd runner on the varsity team. Now im the Captain and number 1 runner of the team since 10th grade.

My goals are to attend a D1 college/university after  i finish high school. For now im focused on in-state colleges, but i wouldnt mind attending a college out of state.

Im a determined athlete in the sport i do. There is not that many rest days throughout the year, only time i take a break is when Im injured. Even if Im injured, I will find a way to stay in shape, such as swimming, biking, or core workouts.

Academically i try my best to have an A or a B in all my classes. Im in a program called Avid that teaches leadership skills and about searching for colleges. I hope to take a career in Sports management or Physical therapy. But I prefer Sports Management since i want to become a Sports Agent.
