I fell into track during Sophomore year. I had a teacher who took a particular interest in me as an athlete and persistently asked me to join cross country. After several weeks, I decided to join and have not looked back since. I enjoy the competition and self achievement. I feel most successful when I achieve my personal goals/records and find myself disappointed when I win a race but do not improve my time.
I understand that school is important and will lead to a successful future... but what I have found is that education makes me a better runner... and running makes me more intelligent. The more I focus on both, the more fortunate I become. I desire to be apart of a program that will cultivate me both athletically and academically.
