I joined the mile club at Port Orange Elementary School in the fourth grade and found that I really loved running. I ran my first cross country race at the age of 9 . After that I did some races off and on and tried other sports in Middle school but came back to my true passion in High school. I joined the track team as a freshman and found that I preferred long distance running and liked the 3200m. I have run in the Varsity team of our school cross country team & track teams for the last three years and I am number one on my cross- country team.I am now the captain of the team. Despite doing the relatively challenging International Baccalaureate program and taking advanced level classes and keeping up with grades- I practice at least 8-10 hours a week. Running is a way of life for me and I would like to run on the Cross country as well as Track teams of the college I attend. I want to become a doctor and help people and I want to continue running to help myself. I do believe I can strive to continue to improve my times while I pursue a career in medicine.
