Preston Klaus '19 Recruiting Profile

Sports have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, with two sports--basketball and track--catching my heart.  I started track in the 3rd grade and immediately fell in love with the long jump, quickly learning the technique.  In time, I gained my unique competitiveness that drives me to be the best in everything I do, not just athletically, but academically.  Being a two-sport athlete, track season falls directly after basketball season, allowing no opportunity to train specifically for track.  With specialized training in a dedicated college program, I can significantly boost my numbers from where they currently stand.  Also, with being one of the youngest in my class, and now being 6'6", I have room to develop as an athlete, arguably more so than others.  In college, I would love to have the instruction necessary to add another event, such as the high jump, with my 30+ inch vertical leap.  For my major, I plan to study statistics with a double major in either business analytics or sport management.  To any track program that believes in me, I promise I will bring you a strong academic and athletic work ethic.
