Personal Statement
One of my most memorable moments from my high school career comes 2 weeks before my freshman year started. On that day I went on the first run of my life. It was not anything much, only a 3 mile run, but at the time I was struggling to keep up and persevere through 30 minutes of pain. Although this run is not something one would be particularly proud of, it is none the less important. Because, on that day I fell in love with running and decided right then and there that I would do whatever it wold take to become on of the best.
As my High School career is coming to a close I still stand steadfast with my goals. However, I have added quite a few to my list. I now want to be the best leader for my team and the best athlete for my coach. My team, those still with me and those graduated, have helped me learn just who I am. Through traditions and Saturdays (strictly for the boys) I have made memories that will keep me in touch with them for a lifetime. Then there is my coach who has watched me struggle and succeed through every grueling workout and intense race. Without her guidance I would not be the athlete I am today. I hope to be able to bring what I have learned to the college level and leave a legacy fit to be told to young athletes aspiring to be one of the greats.
