Personal Statement
My love for track and field started in elementary school. My first major event was in the 2nd grade, I remember competing and placing 1st in the 100M and as we celebrated I jump and landed on my arm and it shattered my elbow. ouch! I'm not afraid of a challenge and after what seems like forever, I was out of the cast and back running the following season.
I am Jahmai Dillon, a senior at Whitewater high school. I have been on the track and field team at WHS for the passed 2 years and I also did track and field at my previous high school , St. Georges College in Kingston JA.
My current events are 100M, 200M and 400M, I also did long jump for some time. I have be fortunate enough to compete at Junior Olympics 2019, AAU Club championship 2019, Georgia Games 2019 and number of local events and track meet with my school's team as well as my club.
We were in the middle of our season looking forward to faster times and physical and professional growth when the world was hit with a pandemic and it abruptly ended. However, I am confident I will be back on the tracks soon doing what I love and pushing myself to be the best. Challenge accepted!
