Personal Statement
One of my biggest goals is to be able to throw and compete at the college level in the discus. Ever since I first started track two years ago I found it to be one of my biggest passions and I am always trying to find new ways to improve myself by doing as many things as could. one of those things was going to Camp Ironwood, that was one the best things I did to improve myself and to improve the way that I now look at the discus and hard work that it requires for an individual to become good at that event. From my freshman for sophomore year I had a 50 foot increase in the discus and now after going to ironwood I have started to throw 130’s in the discus. One of the things that makes me different from the other recruits is that I am outside with my throwing for and hour to two hours a day on top of football and work, I am not afraid to put forth the extra time and energy to further make myself not only a better athlete but a better person all together. My grades at the beginning of high school were not as they should be and took me finding what it was I wanted to do with life and that going to Naval Academy and going into the Navy ROTC program. Once I found that my grades went up and I went from A's and B'S and a C or two to straight A's and that was something that felt absolutely amazing and i wanted and hungered for those better grades and I had the made the choice to no longer settle for that's okay but instead I wanted the straight A's and no longer settled for okay. You will find that I am always eager to learn more on almost anything and I am always willing to put forth the extra effort for something I want, i am a very agreeable person and I take coaching as best as I can and I will always show others with the respect that they deserve.
