Personal Statement

My name is Frank Cardy. I am currently a Senior at Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, IL, which is a short distance outside of Chicago.  I have been in Cross Country for only a year and a half and I have had much success earning all conference and all county honors, and earning a medal at every invite so far in my Senior year.  Those who know me acknowledge my competitive fire in both athletics and academics.  I credit my early success to the hard work I put in over the summer.  I have run PRs of 4:43 for 1600m. 10:01 for 3200m and 15:29 for 3 miles.  After only one year, I know that I have just scratched the surface of my potential, and I hope that my work ethic and passion for the sport gives me the opportunity to compete at the next level.

I have decided on Criminal Justice/Criminology as a preferred major, and I'll be looking for a university that is competitive both athletically and academically.
