Deagan Brown '25 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals and aspirations are to be the best student-athlete I can be and aspire to never give up in life.  I am searching for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically, as well as, academically.  What makes me a good candidate for your team is my versatility and leadership skills.  As the 8th Grade Boys Junior High School Track Team Captain, I have the ability to run short distances, such as the Boys 110 High Hurdles and break a long standing County Record with a time of 16.46.  As well as, have the endurance to run long distances such as the 1600 Meter Run, 400 Meter Dash and the 800 Meter Run all in the same Track Meet.  

Winning first place in the Boy's 8th Grade Cross Country Junior High School Sectionals in Class 2 AA in Beardstown, Illinois in the Fall of 2020 was one of the highlights of my Jr. High School career with a time of 11:15.   I was also the Captain of the Boy's 8th Grade Cross Country Team and helped push each team member to try for their personal best record at each XC Meet.  Unfortunately, the Boys State Cross Country Finals were cancelled due to COVID-19.  This pandemic has helped me to grow as a person and to re-focus my attention on my grades and athletics.

This is what makes me different and sets me apart from other recruits due to my ability to run in various types of short distance and long distance events.  My academics are very high too. I always try my best in school to achieve getting good grades and having a good work ethic.  I believe this will make me standout above the rest of the recruits.  Thank you!
