Jack Casaccio '23 Recruiting Profile

I love being on a team and my goal is to run at the collegiate level. I was lucky to find out I had a running gift at an early age. I ran my first 5k at 7 years old, and then found a competitive travel track team to join. I ran on the Flippen Flyers AAU team from 8 years old until  high school.  I excelled at distance but even placed top 8 at the AAU junior olympics in the 4x400 as a 9 year old. Those summers with that team are some of my best memories growing up.

I have been running varsity since my freshman year. I had some early success with a massive 3 mile 15:35 PR and became all-conference as a freshman.  I have had some hard fought losses and team disappointments the past few years too.  But overall, I keep pushing and improving and won’t let my team down.  I have a reputation for ”showing up” at all the big meets.  I even recently lost one of my spikes during a huge invite and still placed top 30.  I knew my points mattered and didn’t give up and ran all but 100m with 1 shoe.  Although my foot was sore for a few days, it was a huge lesson in grit and mental toughness.
