Joseph Boyer '19 Recruiting Profile

I picked up a shot for the first time in March 2016 when I was a high school freshman. Since then my throwing distance has increased to an officially recorded 54' 0.5".  I am working hard to significantly increase that number in the 2019 indoor and outdoor seasons. I am highly competitive by nature and have a strong desire to reach my maximum ability. I recognize and appreciate the importance of coaching, and am always open to hearing how I can improve. My plan is to major in mathematics and perhaps become a high school math teacher and coach. I use my understanding of math and physics to analyze my throwing technique. I enjoy representing my school and being a member of a team. I am proud that I seem to be approachable, which often provides me with the opportunity to mentor younger athletes. As a multi-sport athlete (football and throwing), I am accustomed to year-round athletic training, and I have a lot of experience with being engaged in sports while also being successful in my classes.
