Personal Statement
I am very dedicated to the sport of cross country and track. I work very hard at improving my speed and stamina, but my biggest strength would be my mental game. Academically wise, I started out my high school career getting A's, B's, and a few C's here and there. That continued until my Junior year, where now I have been challenged by my family and friends to work for better grades because they knew I had more potential in the classroom. I accepted the challenge and beat it by getting straight A's on my semester report card for the first time ever.
I have recently received the captains' award on the track team, beating out 3 seniors and being the only junior to receive the award this year. This off season, I plan on running 2-a-days, which I have never done before during off season training. I really hope this will improve my 3 mile time, and my goal is to be under 15:50. As for track my senior year, my goal is to run a 1:56 800, 50 second 400, and a sub 4:40 mile if my coach ever gives me the chance to run it.
